Title:
The DBT-SUD: acceptance and change in its application
Teacher: Doriana Losasso
DBT-SUD (DBT-S), unlike standard DBT, is suitable for patients with complex clinical frameworks characterized by emotional disorder with active use of substances/alcohol (DBP and DUS). The therapist often confronts himself with the difficulty in keeping a balance between accepting how much the patient is willing to change and is able to implement and, at the same time, promote change towards abstention for a life worthy of being lived.
The seminar will illustrate how to propose the strategies and skills of DBT-SUD in particular to address the typical challenges encountered in the treatment with these patients, interfering behaviors with therapy, difficulties of engagement and engagement on targets from the beginning of treatment, dialectic abstinence and the different skills during the therapeutic process.
Educational objectives
-
Learn how to identify the conditions for applying the DBT-S compared to standard DBT or skills training.
-
Learn how to deal with DBT-S-specific sub-targets within the different treatment methods.
-
Carefully use DBT skills within the therapeutic process, even within a neuropsychological perspective.
The seminar is aimed at associates and ordinary members who have a knowledge of DBT skills.
It is desirable that participants present clinical situations.
