TITLE:
How to change non-effective behaviour, changing its consequences: contingency strategies in dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT)
The seminar is held by Dr. ssa Donatella Fiore
The seminar is aimed at all members – associates and ordinary members – who have completed the DBT Intensive Training or who have attended at least the first part
DESCRIPTION:
The DBT aims to modify problematic behaviors in order to a life worthy of being lived, that is, in line with the values and principles of patients, through a process of balance between acceptance of one’s emotions, thoughts, somatic sensations and tendencies to action/behaviour and change.
The seminar will outline the Strategies for Changing Behavior, i.e. how to use in a dialectical perspective the principles of behavioral science to increase desired behavior and reduce unwanted behavior:
(a) Reinforcement
(b) Extinction
(c) Punishment
The seminar includes moments of frontal teaching, role playing, group exercises. Part of the seminar will be devoted to participants' questions. Participants are invited to submit in advance any questions they wish to ask in order to facilitate online teaching.
