THE PROTOCOL DBT STEPS-A IN 3 TRAINING DAYS:

The DBT in schools: the "Skills Training for the emotional problem solving of teenagers (DBT STEPS-A)" is a socio-emotional learning protocol (social emotional learning – SEL) designed to be taught to secondary school students first and second degree within the school environment. The protocol was built in order to help teens develop coping strategies and decision-making skills to be able to use both at school and everyday life. DBT STEPS-A is based on the main skills belonging to the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a model that has proved extremely effective with people characterized by different levels of emotional suffering/disfunctional behaviors, both in adolescence and in adulthood. The skills have been adapted to be able to be taught to students of all schools, widening the target to a non-clinical/non-comprehensive population. The aim of this training is to allow the learning of the four fundamental elements necessary to implement a DBT STEPS-A protocol effectively and effectively:

  • The background and development of the DBT STEPS-A protocol
  • Structure and implementation analysis
  • The overview and lessons of the DBT STEPS-A protocol
  • The organization and participatory practice in teaching DBT STEPS-A lessons
