DBT DUS: SKILLS AND TARGETS

The seminar addresses all associates, associates and ordinary members.
As neurocognitive and cognitive bias deficits associated with addiction impact on treatment outcomes (drop out, relapse) and targeted interventions on these targets are recommended, this seminar on DBT DUS highlights how neuroscientific research on addiction offers an interesting contribution that enhances the use of DBT skills, both standard and specific, in the treatment of addictions.
After the presentation of the main DBT DUS adaptations, it will illustrate how many DBT skills are implicitly addressed to the neuropsychological mechanisms involved in the maintenance of addiction.
Converging research points will be illustrated which can be usefully shared with patients in teaching, or kept in mind by the therapist as guiding principles in generalization, with proper timing in the therapeutic process, from prevention of risk situations, to management of craving, to prevention of relapses.
The seminar means:
– Improve the ability to identify DBT skills as effective solutions in co-diagnosis patients (DBP and DUS) or only with DUS;
– Improve knowledge and skills in the use of standard and dependency skills, taking into account the phases of the therapeutic process.
The seminar is for all members. A good knowledge of all DBT skills is recommended.
Participation in clinical cases is required.
There is an alternation of frontal teaching and group exercises.
