The seminar is aimed at all members – associates and ordinary members – who have completed the Intensive Training or who have attended at least the first part
In the light of Marsha’s indications that DBT is not a suicide prevention treatment (Marsha’s mantra is "a life worth living" and not a life at all costs, just to use the strategy of the extension) and remembering that, at the same time, research data show us that DBT is an effective treatment in reducing suicide attempts, the seminar has the following educational objectives:
- Learn how to use chain analysis and conduct a solution analysis within self-harmful, para and suicidal behaviors
- Learn how to treat suicide within the different modes of intervention
- Learn how to identify conditions and reflect clinically on the use of hospitalization
Requires participation with a proper or known clinical case and knowledge of chapter 13 pp. 532-562 of M.M: Linehan, (2021), cognitive-behaviour treatment of borderline disorder. The model DBT, Cortina, Milan. It also requires the intensive training material (crisis management card, diary card, case formulation). Requires to be aware of the material relating to suicidal evaluation (RAMP)
Prevents moments of frontal teaching, role-playing games, group exercises
